- Hangers with a series of clips on the lower rung (usually ten to twelve), are useful for garments like ties and scarves. Again, when such articles of clothing are draped on regular hangers, they tend to slip off. With clip hangers, they can be stored in a more efficient fashion, making it easy to retrieve them as well. A hanger hook with just a single or a couple of clips can be used to hang shoes or boots in a closet.
- Clip hangers can be used on clotheslines too. These are circular or rectangular frames fitted with clothespins and a hanger hook on the top, and are great for hanging smaller garments that might otherwise blow off a clothes line.
